QR Code Reader decodes QR codes from your device camera or uploaded images. It detects URLs, plain text, vCards, Wi-Fi credentials, and more. Everything runs locally in your browser — no images or data are sent to any server.
QR Code Reader is a free, browser-based scanner that can read and decode QR codes from two sources: your device camera (using real-time video scanning) or from uploaded image files. It automatically detects the type of content encoded in the QR code — whether it is a URL, plain text, contact information (vCard), Wi-Fi configuration, email address, or phone number — and displays it in an appropriate format. URLs are shown as clickable links. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript; no images or decoded data are transmitted to any server.
Choose between Camera mode and Upload mode. In Camera mode, grant camera access and point your device at a QR code. The scanner continuously analyzes video frames and decodes any QR code that appears. In Upload mode, drag and drop an image file or click to browse and select one. The tool processes the image and extracts the QR code data. Once decoded, the result appears with its detected type and content. You can copy the result to your clipboard or, if the result is a URL, open it directly in a new tab.
