A GPA calculator converts letter grades into numerical values and computes a weighted average based on credit hours to produce a Grade Point Average. The GPA is the standard measure of academic achievement used by universities worldwide. It reflects not just your grades but also the weight of each course — a high grade in a four-credit course contributes more than the same grade in a two-credit course. This tool uses the standard 4.0 scale where A+ and A equal 4.00, descending through B+, B, C+, and so on to F at 0.00. The resulting GPA determines academic standing, eligibility for honors programs, scholarship qualifications, and graduate school admissions. Understanding your GPA helps you set realistic academic targets and identify subjects that need improvement.
Click "Add Subject" to create rows for each course you want to include. Enter the subject name, credit hours, and select a letter grade from the dropdown. Add as many subjects as needed and remove any that are not relevant. Click "Calculate GPA" to see your total credit hours, total quality points, GPA, and academic classification displayed in a clear results panel. The classification follows common Malaysian university standards: First Class Honours (3.67+), Second Class Upper (3.00+), Second Class Lower (2.50+), Third Class (2.00+), and Fail (below 2.00).
