About This Module

Track the exact time remaining until any important date with this free, browser-based countdown tool. Create multiple live countdowns that display days, hours, minutes, and seconds ticking down in real time. A year progress bar shows how far through the current year you are. No data leaves your device — all countdowns are stored in your browser.

What Is Countdown to Date?

Countdown to Date is a days-until calculator that provides live, second-by-second tracking of time remaining until any future date you specify. Unlike static date calculators that show a number once, this tool continuously updates its display so you always see the precise countdown. You can create multiple countdowns simultaneously, each displayed as its own card with the event name, target date, and a four-unit breakdown of days, hours, minutes, and seconds. The year progress bar at the top provides a visual reminder of how much of the current calendar year has elapsed. Each countdown includes a share button that copies a ready-made text snippet like "X days until [event]" for quick sharing on social media or in messages. All data persists in your browser's local storage so your countdowns survive page refreshes.

How It Works

Enter an event name and select a target date using the date picker, then click "Add Countdown" to create a new countdown card. Each card immediately begins ticking, showing the live remaining time. The four time units — days, hours, minutes, seconds — update every second. When a countdown reaches zero, it displays a completion message. Use the "Share" button to copy a shareable text snippet to your clipboard. Click "Remove" to delete a countdown you no longer need. The year progress bar at the top updates automatically to show the percentage of the current year that has passed.
